The Castle belonged to the Benedictine monks of the Coltibuono Abbey. You can visit its massive 15 th century fortifications with an imposing cylindrical tower built as protection against artillery fire. But there is also the aristocratic grace of the villa nobile, with its sequence of furnished and decorated rooms, and an unparalleled 18th century theatre.
There are fine rooms with canopied double bed.
The prices of all the B&B rooms in the Castle and the Canonica include breakfast in the old Farm kitchen on the first floor of the Castle where there is a great mediaeval fireplace.
There are also six apartments with a terrace or garden for life in the open air. Just 100- 150 metres away there's a fine swimming pool.
Meleto is in the Municipality of Gaiole, about 1 kilometre from the built up area. In Gaiole and environs there are many pizza parlours, restaurants and inns to suit all tastes and pockets.
And from Meleto you can make easy day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Perugia, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Chianciano, Bagni Vignoni, Pitigliano and Saturnia.
From Meleto you can walk or organise bicycle excursions, but for a pleasant stay with plenty of opportunities we advise a car. -

The Molino di Foci is an old watermill dating back to the 14th century. After being abandoned for over 40 years it has been carefully restored into a characteristic bed and breakfast, ready to offer guests a warm welcome to the fascinating tuscan countryside.
Restoration work has been sympathetically carried out over a number of years using materials and colours typical of Tuscany. As a result, Molino di Foci now offers its' guests the possibility to clearly envisage the life and history of the old watermill while enjoying any modern comforts, amid a wonderful setting surrounded by fields of wheat and spectacular sunflowers.
The English speaking owners have a long experience in first class hotellerie and with the restoration they have realized their big dream of their own hotel.
Situated on the via Francigena, which originally lead pilgrims from Canterbury to Rome, the Molino di Foci is an historic building protected by the Belle Arti. -

The agritourism started in 1995 in a traditional farmhouse which still conserves its rustic flavour of the countryside, but today is provided with every type of comfort and service guarantee its high quality. The grapes and other products are taken care of by the owners themselves according to old traditional farming techniques together with modern innovations without altering the quality of the result but improving it.
There are seven independent apartments, complete with all services. Moreover, excursions on foot and by bicycle (to hire) are indicated. For those fond of the countryside there is the possibility of participating in the agricultural activities of the farm. Inside the farmhouse it’s possible to try the farm’s products and the typical local dishes at the Osteria La Crocina.
