In the green heart of Amalfi coast, in Tramonti, Pietrarosa is a very special b&b. Placed in a 16th century two storey building and surrounded by “macchia mediterranea”, at only 4kms from the sea of Maiori, Pietrarosa offers the possibility of outstanding natural and cultural experiences.

Pietrarosa is the result of a respectful and eco-friendly restoration of a sixteenth century two storey building only reachable by foot through a picturesque stairway that goes along terraces of vineyards and lemon trees. The common rooms are on the ground floor; wide and bright, they are decorated with refined and old furniture: the living room, with a beautiful fireplace, is ideal for meeting people and have a chat; the breakfast and lunch room, where you can try the exquisite local specialities, while contemplating the green valley; the library, where readers can have access to a wide variety of novels and philosophy books.
On the first floor, after a common room with an ancient oven and a decorated ceiling, you find the bedrooms: they all have private bathroom, amazing views on the valley and high ceilings decorated with stuccos.
The house is surrounded by a garden on different levels, by a limoneto and a DOC vineyard. There are many corners where you can relax and enjoy the silence: under crowns of roses and vineyards, in the coolness of the grass and in the many terraces with their majolica decorated benches. Worth mentioning is the solarium on the top floor terrace: framed by the mountains all around, it offers a magnificent view over the valley and on the sea triangle in the horizon.

Deep inside the silence and green of “macchia mediterranea” vegetation, B&B Pietrarosa is the ideal place to relax, read, contemplate nature or simply abandon oneself to “dolce far niente”. But of course things to see and to do are several.
In the B&B, in certain periods of the year and under request, you can have guitar, photography, cooking and roses cultivation lessons; sometimes poetry and philosophy readings and chamber music utdoor concerts are being proposed.
Pietrarosa belongs to Strada del Vino Costa d’Amalfi association and is perfect starting point for unforgettable food & wine itineraries among vineyards, terracings and ancient agricultural traditions.
In the surroundings, there are many touristic and cultural attractions. The whole area has been declared from Unesco “World’s Patrimony” and is rich with natural beauties, architectural wonders, places of high historical and cultural value.
Firstly, at only 20 minutes by car, the magnificent Ravello, with its ancient villas, the breathtaking views and the famous festival of classical music, from May to September.
You will be amazed by charming little towns, full of history and monuments, like Amalfi, Maiori, Minori, Praiano, Positano and Furore; by picturesque fishermen villages like Cetara, Conca dei Marini, Erchie, Atrani; by the arcades of Cava dei Tirreni and the ceramics shops of Vietri sul Mare.
Not to say of the walks in the woods along the ancient paths of the immensely panoramic Lattari mountains.
Last but not least: at only 30 minutes by car, the archaeological sites of Pompei and Ercolano; at about two hours by car the archaeological site of Paestum and “certosa di Padula”.
